COVID Crisis Support Scholarship Program 2021 (Jyoti Prakash Scholarship) - Scholarship for Class 5 to 10
COVID Crisis Support Scholarship Program 2021 : India Foundation’s COVID Crisis Support Scholarship (Jyoti Prakash Scholarship) project aims to help children who have been left vulnerable and with little or no financial support for their future education as a result of a COVID-related (family or financial) crisis in their home.
COVID has caused damage on many Indian families since early 2020. With 2.38 lakh deaths due to COVID-19 (till May 8, 2021), India is experiencing the worst tragedy of the century, with lakhs of families destroyed and facing a lifetime of misery. Moreover, rising unemployment and job losses have made it impossible for many families to support their children’s education.
The COVID Crisis (Jyoti Prakash) Support Scholarship initiative will provide scholarships to such students, allowing them to continue their study without interruption. Mentoring and guidance will also be provided to the winners.
COVID Crisis Support Scholarship Program 2021 (Jyoti Prakash Scholarship) - Scholarship for Class 5 to 10
Eligibility :
- Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply.
- Open for students from Class 1 to Graduation
- Students who have faced one of the two crises listed below
- students who have lost a parent(s)/earning family member since January 2020,
- Students whose earning family member lost their job/employment during COVID pandemic
- Students should enrol in school and continue their studies.
Benefits:
- INR 9,000 for students below Class 8
- INR 12,000 for Class 9 & 10 students
- INR 15,000 for Class 11 & 12 students
- INR 18,000 to 30,000 for students pursuing graduation
- For future preparedness and readiness, career counselling, learning and development seminars are available.
Documents Required:
- Marksheet of the previous educational degree
- A government-issued identity proof (Aadhaar card/voter identity card/driving license/PAN card)
- Current year admission proof (fee receipt/admission letter/institution identity card/bonafide certificate)
- Crisis document (Death certificate of parent(s) or proof of job loss)
- A referral from someone who is familiar with the family’s condition (Can be a school teacher, doctor, head of school, college, or a government officer, etc.)
- Bank account details of applicant or parents ( Account No, IFSC Code, Account Holder Name)
- Passport size photograph

- Fill in the required details in the online scholarship application form
- Upload the required documents
- To accept the terms and conditions, click the ‘Accept‘ button. Before accepting the terms and conditions, students must ensure that they have read them.
