EWS Certificate Application : EWS Certificate is issued to the people belonging to the EWS (Economically Weaker Sections) category. People with an EWS certificate are eligible for a 10% reservation in higher education institutions and government employment across the country. EWS is a reservation sub-category inside the general category.

What is EWS Certificate?
Under the General category, EWS is a new reservation sub-category. It’s a type of reservation system that went into effect in 2019. The President of India passed the EWS bill on January 12th, 2019. Gujarat became the first state to pass this legislation on January 14, 2019.
Candidates must simply provide a valid EWS certificate issued by the relevant authority to claim the benefit of 10% EWS reservation in any government job or entrance to higher education.
The EWS reservation plan was established to give 10% reservation in direct recruitment to civil jobs and services in the Government of India for people who fall into the EWS category and are not covered by any other reservation scheme such as SC, ST, or OBC. EWS certificate is a type of income and asset certificate that is granted to persons who belong to the economically disadvantaged parts of society (EWS category under General category).
Eligibility Criteria :
- The candidate should belong to the general category. He/she shall not hold any caste certificate under his/her name.
- EWS is only available to candidates in the general category.
- The applicant’s annual family income must not be more than Rs. 8 lakhs per year.
- To be eligible for the EWS Scheme, applicants or their families must not own any agricultural land larger than 5 acres.
- The candidate must fall under the broad category. He or she must not have a caste certificate in his or her name.
- EWS is only available to candidates in the general category.
- The applicant’s family’s yearly income cannot exceed Rs. 8 lakhs per year.
- To be eligible for the EWS programme, applicants or their families must not possess any agricultural land larger than 5 acres.
- If an applicant or his or her family has a residential flat, it must be less than 100 square feet.
- The applicant’s or his/her family’s Residential Plot must be less than 100 square yards in size and located in a designated municipality sector.
- The applicant’s or his/her family’s residential plot shall not exceed 200 square yards in a non-notified municipality sector.
Note: The candidates who satisfy all the above-mentioned eligibility criteria shall be eligible for this scheme.

EWS Certificate Application Process :
Candidates can submit an application for an EWS certificate either online or offline. The release of application forms for the same totally depends upon the state government.n the case of an online application, candidates must go to the issuing authority’s official website, fill out the application form, and submit it. Andhra Pradesh is one of the states that provide an online option for residents to submit their applications.
Candidates must pick up an application form at the issuing authority’s office if they are applying offline. You can also get the application form from the issuing authorities’ official websites. Candidates must fill out a hard copy of the application form and attach the necessary documentation. They must then submit the application form to the issuing authority’s office. They must print out a printed copy of the application form and complete all of the required fields. Applicants must ensure that the information provided is accurate.

All essential documents must be attached to the application form by the applicant. When filling out the application form, they must have the following documents and information with them:

Application Fee:
Applicants must also submit the application fee, which can be done either offline or online, along with the application form. The application fee is determined by the issuing authority as well as state governments. In other words, the application fee will not be the same for all the states.

The identified authorities in each state will issue and verify income and asset certificates. Although, the issuing authorities are different but the format of the application form has been prescribed by the concerned ministry of the Government of India which is same for all the states.

শংসাপত্র সংযোজনী – সি ( Annexure – C ) নিম্নলিখিত কর্তৃপক্ষ প্রদান করবেন –

মিউনিসিপালিটি এলাকার এলাকার ক্ষেত্রে মহকুমা শাসকের অফিসে
KMC-র জন্য কলকাতা DWO অফিসে
- আবেদন করার পর আপনি একটি রিসিভ কপি পাবেন। ২ সপ্তাহ এর মধ্যে নির্দিষ্ট দপ্তর থেকে আপনার দেওয়া তথ্যের ভিত্তিতে ইন্সপেকশন হবে এবং তার রিপোর্ট নির্দিষ্ট দপ্তরে জমা পরে যাবে।
এবার তার কিছুদিনের মধ্যে আপনি নির্দিষ্ট বয়ানে (Annexure C) সার্টিফিকেট পেয়েও যাবেন।
EWS Application Form Status Check:
EWS applications can be submitted online in various states. They can also track the status of their application through the online site. How to Login into Official Portal?
- Open the portal’s official link.
- Following that, the portal’s home page will appear on your screen.
- Select “Login” from the drop-down menu.

How to Recover Lost/ Forgotten Password?

Validity of EWS Certificate :
Certificates of income and assets will be valid for a certain amount of time.The validity of EWS certificate is decided by the designated authority of the states. The validity of an EWS certificate, on the other hand, is usually one year from the date of issue. Applicants must confirm whether the EWS certificate is valid before utilising it for admission or recruiting.
